Brik-Art Inception

The company’s first corporate name, “Original Brik-Art,” conveys something of the impetus, vision, and intent of its founder, to provide a product to meet a latent interior decoration concept and interest of its time: to replicate brick as décor without the restrictions that weight and thickness would impose on simple projects such as facing fireplaces, walls, kitchens, and such. In time an alternative exterior product was developed for the facing of exterior walls, refacing concrete porches and steps, and so on. At the time no such product had been marketed, and with the exception of several faux brick veneer products, no manufacturer had succeeded in meeting this criteria that appeared remotely authentic. As the early business model evolved beyond exclusively being confined to manufacturing, into the implementation and installation of its proprietory products in part through licensed masonry contracting services, it remained dedicated to setting the very highest standards.

Brik-Art has evolved to re-create the appearance of brick masonry in a light-weight, user- friendly application that is only a half inch thick, and appeared on the market decades before brick manufacturers began to recognize that entrepreneurs had discovered a significant niche that they had overlooked.

The earliest product experimental work was developed through the time-tested means of market analysis, customer feedback, and trial-and-error. From this mix of off-the-shelf and customized ideas a commercial need for this type of masonry work emerged.
